Sometimes if you're working on a project and you want to sync audio between comps it can be a little tricky. So.... I wrote a handy script that would speed up MY workflow. You could do something complex and needlessly technical - or you could create an audio comp and place that in all your precomps.... which is what coKo does for you.

I mainly do simple projects - and start out with an AV script in Google sheets. I'll bring the audio and images into Cavalry. I'll create an audio comp and then lay out my storyboards into an animatic. Then I'll convert to precomps and set the in and out position. Then drag my audio comp into this new comp. CoKo speeds up this process drastically.

I created this after facing a few problems on a video - I liked the flexibility of setting up the comps like this but it look a little time. This tool allows you to transition from an animatic to a series of precomp with sync'd audio in no time.

Features:
Quickly create precomps from selection (intended use is from images). - You can do multiple conversions at a time if you want.
Automatically renames the precomp and the comp in the asset window + puts it in a folder to keep things tidy.
Sets the in and out of you precomp and comp so you can see easily where things are.
Adds a nominated audio file to your new comps if you want. Precomps are automatically muted in your main comp.

Add markers with a button
Add multiple markers to all selected layers
Add markers with coloured area
Add a marker to control the in/out position of two comps.

Here is an example - basic animatic

Without CoKo in Cavalry if you precompose a layer it changes the color, precomp name and the asset name. It also doesn't set any in/outs or add a your audio comp.

With coKo you can make things a little easier to manage. Note the makers that can be added with one click too.

If you open your comp you'll see the audio comp added - your images and your comp range is set.

This in the UI -

Button functions (L-R)

1) Convert to precomp and offset so that the precomp starts at zero. This is handy if you're wanting to using precomp overides / Auto-animate and stagger etc.

2) Select one or multiple images and precomp into one. If an audio comp is set, this will be added.

3) Select multiple images and create multiple precomps. If an audio comp is set, this will be added.

5) Select a comp with your audio track and click this button. It will then be added to new comps.

6) If nothing is selected this will create a time marker. You can do this while Cavalry is playing if you want. If layers are selected this will create markers on the layer inframe.

7) This will create a marker with a name and coloured area.

8) (experimental) Select two comps and this will create a marker at their in/out - you can then move them together. For this to work your comp will have to be laid out like the example above. First comp on the bottom - working upward. Hope that makes sense.
