duoKo - Proxy Tool

I'm well aware that this isn't a sexy sounding tool that enables you to make something with whiz bang wow factor. DuoKo is a script for Cavalry App that allows you to create proxy values and images, it also allows you to 'freeze' layers and toggle the visibility of other layers all by clicking one button. That was a bit of a mouthful, what it essentially does is simplify your scene so things run faster!

Here are some ideas:

• Reduce the count of a duplicator
• Turn off filters and materials during playback
• Easily create image proxies for faster playback
• Link it to a Clean Up layer to reduced the complexity of an SVG
• Link it to a Add Divisions layer to reduce the count
• Freeze a comp so that it doesn't play during playback
• Turn off behaviours

How does it work?

I'll pop up a new video when I can - this will get you started though. It is super simple! Select a value attribute, dial in your percentage and hit the # button. :) - It's that simple.

Value:

When you create a duoKo proxy it creates a folder with a value array - when you create more they are added to the same folder. ONE thing to take note of here is that there is the option to 'Reverse' these - which is handy in some situations. When you activate duoKo it simply swaps the value output.

Image:

First you have to create all your proxies - depending on how many you have it might take 5 secs or 30 secs. In your Assets folder a new folder is created and the proxies are saved there. When you select your image layer in the scene window and click the 'Image' button a new array is created and added to the duoKo folder.

In the future I'd love it so that you can click and create proxies easily - but at the moment you have to create them all first by selecting one in the viewport. This might change in the future, but it is dependent on the API.

When you click the Image button the lower proxy will be imported from the the duoKo proxy folder. - It might be a good idea to pop all these into a proxy folder in the Asset window.

Freeze and Visibility :

These work a little differently - when you apply one of these it essentially adds a 'tag' to the layer behind the scenes. When you toggle duoKo - it sees the tag and does its thing.

I created the basics of this for a few small jobs that I've done - and thought I'd tidy it up a bit and sell it for a small fee.
